What's with the big ears?
G.D’s solve communication problems. And, in order to solve the problem, they need to understand the problem. And, in order to understand the problem they need to LISTEN. Once it’s comprendo on the problemo – they begin to create the solution. How you ask? Well, they use a bunch of visual tools like:

Color – pretty much explains itself
Images – drawn, painted, photographed or computer-generated
Typography – that’d be the fancy schmancy word for lettering
Space –how all of these things relate to each and are arranged

Most G.Ds use a computer to put all these things together in a design that solves the client’s problem (and hopefully makes them smile). Throughout this process, the G.D. works with a slew of other people like copywriters, photographers, illustrators and printers to help make the whole thing jive. That’s why a G.D. must be a team player.

So you see, G.D’s need to think with both sides of their cranium – the right side for creative stuff and the left side for problem solving and computer-gunk (they even have to do math).
